Barehand Trainer

Position: Hot Line Trainer
Location: International
Start Date: to be advised based on existing work
Wage: Based on Experience. Part or all may be tax free depending on duration of employment.

Work Week: 5 days per week (typical)
Duties: Trainer will conduct a course to teach live line maintenance at either distribution voltages or transmission voltages to new trainees with little or no previous hot line experience. The course will have classroom theory, de-energized training and live training on the customer network. Must be able to use computer to send email and prepare training reports using WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
Training Language: English
Qualifications:
  • 10 years as journeyman lineman and/or Foreman at Transmission voltages.
  • Excellent rigging abilities.
  • Must have at least 10,000 hours either working as a journeyman lineman or supervising journeymen linemen for hot stick and barehand procedures at voltages above 115 kV.
  • Preferably experience with bundled conductors at 245 kV and above.
  • Ability to write new hot line procedures.
  • Previous hot line training experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to train linemen with little or no previous experience so the trainer must be very patient.
Passport: Must be valid for at least 1 year
Voltages: Transmission 132 kV to 500 kV
Housing: Provided
International Travel: Provided
Local Transport: Provided
Duration: Typically 12 to 20 weeks depending on project
